An eco-embodied arts residency held at Bronhafod, a small-scale regenerative land project supporting artistic research in Bannau Brycheiniog.

Land Solo created time and space for reflection at a turning point in my artistic practice. Through an ongoing, intimate encounter with the surrounding ecologies of Bronhafod, I stepped outside of linear timeframes and structures to explore deep listening and attunement with the land, in search of improvisatory and embodied art practices shaped by the rhythms of plant, clay, stone and water.

Through wandering, looking, and gathering, foraged and found materials became collaborators, and my body a moving vessel.... becoming porous, responsive and ever transformed with the landscape...it's terrain, sounds, movements and gestures. Like rain water gathering and receding, I came to experience my internal landscape as one of holding and releasing....carrying memory, materials, and traces without destination, seeking spaces of belonging and coexistence.

Land Solo asked how situated, embodied and improvisatory practices might cultivate deeper listening, hold space for personal, collective and ecological healing, and deepen empathy with more-than-human others.
