CURRENT WORK

CURRENT WORK

Hello

I’m Jess. I'm an artist, ecotherapist + creative health practitioner based in mid-Wales

My work brings together embodied nature, health and wellbeing approaches to explore and remember our connections with nature, land and other living beings, including, plants, animals, elements, earth, and water......

Rooted in queer, ecological perspectives, my artistic and participatory practice emerges through site-sensitive movement, collective storytelling and performance.

Under canopies, along riverbanks and across open fields, I am passionate about discovering ways in which landscapes can support spaces for empathy and understanding, for art and healing, and for more reciprocal, liveable futures.

Mark-making, photography, eco-poetics, and moving image are some of the ways I document and deepen my encounters with the people and places I find myself in relation with. Materials become collaborators. Improvisation a way of living - opening up new ways of thinking, feeling and sensing in times of uncertainty.

As a queer practitioner often working across rural contexts, I'm interested in how we can create more inclusive and accessible nature-based spaces, practices and narratives, where self-expression, imagination and multi-species wellbeing can emerge.

Ways I work, and what I offer:

As a nature-based facilitator with a Masters in Arts, Health & Wellbeing, I have delivered multiple green arts and health initiatives across a diversity of groups and envrionments, including:

Green social prescribing programmes

Creative ecology workshops

Digitial wellbeing sessions for NHS staff

Creative movement workshops for rurally isolated LGBTQ+ groups

I offer conversations and consultation around inclusive nature-based practice, as well as supporting all areas of project design, from developing ideas and creative approaches to exploring relational, nature-based ways of evaluating project impact.

As a trained ecotherapist, I offer one-one guided therapeutic support in outdoor spaces in mid-Wales.

I am always open to exploring new partnerships and collaborations. Do get in touch if you'd like to have a chat.
