BUTOH WALES
A week long residency led by Marie Gabrielle Roti and Nick Parkin, taking place in remote coastal locations in Dale and Marloes in Pembrokeshire.
"What does it mean to ‘become something other?” How can we understand the body as not a fixed or separate entity, and instead surrender, listen, melt, breathe and move with the different pulses, energy and memories of plant, stone, sky, sea, rock, seaweed, lichen, limpets, earth?' (Rotie 2018)

SCORE
There is a voice that says
don’t be drawn in by the performance of it all
like a fool lost in a cave,
dancing with shells on her eyes.....
This is ritual
and the rocks are deep with memory
and they are telling us something
I am listening
and I am clinging in hope
Vanishing
yet held by the weight of stones
Losing sense
Un-cohering
limbs, organs
and the landscapes between beyond naming
Together
communing with
the shoreline
and the giant shoulders of rocks
Becoming kin
