JESS TANNER

Hello & Welcome
I’m Jess. I'm an artist, ecotherapist + creative health practitioner
My practice
My artistic practice explores nature-connection, movement, storytelling & performance as ways to gather, belong and respond - often around themes of queerness, ruralness, land + climate.
I explore these connections through mark-making, embodied writing and moving image as ways to document and deepen my attention to the places I find myself in.
Uncertainty often forms a starting point...
Improvising with the materials that come to hand, elements and weather become ways of discovering and collaborating with the living world around me.
In my participatory practice, I'm interested in how we can create more inclusive and accessible outdoor spaces that centre often unheard human and more-than-human voices - where diversity, imagination and collective wellbeing can emerge.
Who I work with
I work with individuals and groups through one-to-one ecotherapy sessions.
I have facilitated nature, health & wellbeing workshops for NHS healthcare staff, within mental health organisations, for LGBTQ+ groups, and within a variety of community arts and health settings.
I work with woodlands, mountains, gardens, and rivers.
